In Mexico, the accreditation of academic programs as a means to recognize and ensure the quality of higher education, has its immediate predecessor in the evaluation process that became important in the world from the eighties. A new educational model began to set in this period and educational assessment as a concept regent, was institutionalized from the Program for Educational Modernization 1989-1994.
To advance this achievement, the National Coordination for Higher Education Planning (CONPES), I think in 1989 the National Commission for development of higher education (CONAEVA).
The (CONPES), established in 1989, the Committees for the Evaluation of Higher Education (CIEES) promoting and external developments of academic programs through self diagnostic. The ninth and last of these committees is to architecture, design and urbanism (CADU) created at the request and insistence of ASINEA.
